How to Write a Pokémon Fanfic

This is a short introduction on writing Pokémon fan fiction. Over time, I'll try to expand it as I get the opportunity and inspiration.

The first thing to understand when writing Pokémon fan fiction is knowing how to write. There are many fanfic writers who have good ideas, but their writing doesn't turn out because they don't follow the basics. You need to put effort into learning how to put your language into words that others will find easy to read and understand and enjoy.

The next thing to understand when writing Pokémon fanfics is knowing how to write fiction. I get the impression that many aspiring authors get an inspiration for an idea, start writing chapter one, then when they find the time, move on to chapter two, and finally give up after the story reaches a dead end in chapter three. Guys, that's not the way. Between the spark of an idea and the finished work there are things you can do to help you develop the idea into something other people will like to read.

The final thing to understand is how to write Pokémon fan fiction. You can't ignore the work that's gone before you and the lessons we've learned if you want to come up with something your readers will like. Understand the Pokémon world. Understand the genres. Understand the lessons the fanfic community has learned and improve faster.
